I have the honour to inform you that a bill (copies enclosed), intituled "An Ordinance to apply a sum not exceeding Twenty-five million five hundred and eight thousand two hundred and sixty-nine Dollars to the Public Service of the year 1937" was introduced in the Legislative
Council and read a first time on 16th September.
2. Copies of the draft Estimates of Revenue and
Expenditure for 1937, of an Abstract showing the difference between the Estimates of Expenditure for 1936 and the
Estimates of Expenditure for 1937, of memoranda by the
Colonial Secretary, the Colonial Treasurer and the
Director of Public Works, and of the speech by the Colonial
Secretary are enclosed.
3. It is proposed to take the remaining stages of
the bill on 7th October and I shall address you further
thereafter.
